Data Analyst Support

Client is looking for a Contract Data Analyst to support the Head of Quality and Data within their Company. The contract is initially 3 months but may extend.

Main Duties

  • To provide effective data collation and analytical support that enables the Company to respond and plan its services and react to the constantly changing COVID19 situation, including ensuring accurate activity and capacity data is provided on a Tracker (twice a day) and to a Commissioning Group via email (daily).

  • To support the Head of Quality and Data to implement and manage process that ensure the effective, efficient and consistent use of systems and databases across the organisation, to meet internal and external auditing and reporting requirements.

  • Collate data and information required for regular reports and meetings, including, but not limited to, KPI dashboard; annual report; UK benchmarking; Commissioning Group reports; and governance committees. Analyse and interrogate data reports and provide appropriate commentary and insight, working to deadlines within the governance and reporting structure (e.g. Commissioning Group quarterly reports and monthly KPI Dashboards)

  • Produce ad-hoc reports, as agreed with the Head of Quality and Data, using data extracted from Vantage-Sentinel and Crosscare system, presenting the information in a user-friendly way with appropriate commentary.

  • Offer a solution-focused approach to meet the data and reporting requirements of individual managers and provide insight on the data and information extracted ensuring these are presented in a clear and authoritative manner, appropriate to the intended audience including board and governance reports (verbal and written).

  • Provide analysis and projections as requested and investigate patterns and trends in data; and use problem solving, analytical and communications skills to identify possible explanations.

  • Working to monthly deadlines, collate regular data quality reports, as agreed with the Head of Quality and Data or relevant Data Asset Owner, to establish any issues with data integrity and liaise with relevant individuals and managers to identify steps required to improve data quality.

  • Provide support and first-line advice to Data Asset Owners and Administrators for all systems, to ensure Information Governance (IG) and Data Protection procedures are in place, documented and audited and are able to support current and future business intelligence needs.

  • Lead on the development, and ongoing maintenance, of Crosscare and Vantage-Sentinel training materials and delivery (induction and refresher training), user documentation and operating procedures. Support the implementation of changes to these systems through one to one support and training.

  • To undertake and lead on project work as directed by the Head of Quality and Data

  • To ensure that own professional development is kept up to date.

  • To support and participate in the fundraising activities of the Hospice wherever possible.

  • To be an ambassador for the Company.

  • To ensure that the disclosure and use of confidential staff information is both lawful and ethical, and to recognise own responsibility for compliance with relevant legislation.

  • To promote, at all levels, the Company’s vision, values and strategic objectives.

  • To hold DBS and Occupational Health clearances appropriate to the role. Note: these are obtained and checked as part of the recruitment process and reviewed in line with company policy or if a change in circumstances is declared or comes to light.

Qualification’s Skills and Experience

  • Relevant Degree or equivalent Vocational Qualification

  • Experience of using electronic patient databases for input and analysis

  • Experience of configuring databases and creating activity and data quality reports

  • Experience/knowledge of delivering training to individuals/groups.

  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and charts

  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications

  • Excellent attention to detail and able to scrutinize numerical and written data

  • Problem solving, analytical and judgmental capabilities to resolve complex data and reporting issues where a number of alternative solutions are present

  • Able to identify different ways to extract data and configure systems to support current and future business intelligence needs

  • Developed data manipulation and interrogation skills

  • Able to set own objectives, work autonomously, prioritise workloads and work under pressure to meet strict deadlines

  • Desirable

  • Experience in working in a health care setting

  • Experience of using dashboards to present information

  • Experience of using Crosscare software package (or similar)

  • Experience/knowledge of producing Standard Operating Procedures and training materials – Scripts, user guides, walkthrough’s, quick reference guides

  • Knowledge of CQC, CCG.

  • Knowledge of library and reference systems

Working Hours

  • Mondays to Fridays

  • 37.5 hours per week

  • 08.00am to 16.00pm

  • Immediate start
