Decant Operative (Hastings)

Our client is based in Hastings and due to their continual growth, we are delighted to be recruiting for Decant Operative to join their team.


The Client has also launched a development incentive for new starters to learn 4 new skills within their production processes to become eligible for a pay rise. The position will be a temporary to permanent position for the right candidate.


Main Duties:

  • To carry out the weighing and measuring of all ingredients according to supplied recipes.

  • To weigh out and measure ingredients to the requirements of the recipe.

  • To ensure that all relevant records for ingredients are kept to the standard as set out in the Company Policy & Procedures Manual.

  • To ensure work carried out in line with the requirements of the production plan, unless advised otherwise by a supervisor.

  • To ensure all requirements with regard to the handling of allergens are followed as set out in the Company Policy & Procedures Manual.

  • To follow the stock rotation procedure and to report any shortages to the line manager.

  • To report maintenance requirements for machinery and work area to supervisor.

  • To ensure work area and storage area are clean, tidy and well maintained and to complete relevant records for cleaning activities, following the standards as set out in the Company Policy & Procedures Manual.

  • To ensure machinery is thoroughly cleaned as required; in line with the standards as set out in the Company Policy & Procedures Manual.

  • To ensure a high level of hygiene is maintained both personally and within the work area.

  • To assist with tasks in the goods in department where required

  • To comply with health and safety legislation.

  • To behave in a non-discriminatory manner in accordance with the B&DFL Ethical Trading Policy.

  • Carry out duties as the management may from time to time reasonably require.




Qualifications/Skills:

  • No formal qualification required.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Ability to work as a team.

  • Knowledge of hygiene practices.

  • Ability to work independently.


Working Hours:

  • 06.00 – 14.30

  • 30-minute lunch break plus 2x 15-minute breaks
