FOOD PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

Our client is based in Hastings and due to their continual growth, we are delighted to be recruiting for Production Assistants/Operatives to join their busy production areas. You will be required to work in different areas of the Company, from packaging, filling, labelling and working in kitchen to enable you to learn new and varied skills. The Client has also launched a development incentive for new starters to learn 4 new skills within their production processes to become eligible for a pay rise. The positions are temporary to permanent for the right candidates, who are looking for a future career.


Main Duties:

· To fill, pack and label a range of hot and cold products to the required company specification.

· To produce a range of products to the standards required in order to maintain adequate stock levels and to meet the demands of the customer.

· To fill and seal a variety of cold/hot food products in a range of packaging containers; to the standards as set out in the Company Policy & Procedures Manual.

  • To operate packaging machinery across both kitchen and packaging departments; following guidelines for use and ensuring work is carried out in a safe and hygienic manner.

  • To support in the production of a range of products to the standards as set out in the Company Policy & Procedures Manual and to meet the required product recipe.

  • To ensure all products are labeled correctly to the standards as set out in the Company Policy & Procedures Manual.

  • To pack products in required cases, ensuring standards as set out in the Company Policy & Procedures Manual are adhered to.

  • To carry out product checks to ensure the standards as set out in the Company Policy & Procedures Manual are achieved.

  • To operate packaging machinery as required; following guidelines for use and ensuring work is carried out in a safe and hygienic manner.

  • To complete appropriate records of packaged products, ensuring the standards as set out in the Company Policy & Procedures Manual are maintained

  • To wash cooking, kitchen and packaging utensils as required to the standard as set out in the Company Policy & Procedures Manual.

  • To carry out unplanned cleaning tasks as required ensuring the standards are maintained.

  • To complete relevant records for cleaning activities, following the standards as set out in the Company Policy & Procedures Manual.

· To ensure the use of chemicals and personal protective equipment is carried out in a healthy and hygienic manner.

  • To behave in a non-discriminatory manner in accordance with the Company’s Ethical Trading Policy.

  • To support other areas within production where required

  • To carry out duties as the management may from time to time reasonably require.


Qualifications

  • No formal qualification required.

  • Good general education.


Skills & Knowledge

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to work as a team and use own initiative.

  • Knowledge of hygiene practices.

  • Knowledge of health & safety practice.

  • Good IT skills.

  • Experience of working in a similar role or environment is desirable.

  • Must have safety footwear


Working Hours

· 8 Hour Shift Patterns

· Mondays to Fridays

· 8.00am to 23.30pm

· Enhanced rate for unsociable hours and weekends


· Development incentive for new starters to learn 4 new skills within their production processes to become eligible for a pay rise
