Maintenance/ Van Driver (Hastings)

Our client is a manufacturing company who specialise in electronic component manufacturing. They are currently looking for an Assembly Operative to join their busy and growing team. This is a temporary to permanent role for the right candidates.


Main Duties

  • Experience of:

  • Undertaking simple repairs and maintenance work

  • Premises management

  • Working alone

Qualifications/Training:

  • Clean drivers’ licence

  • Handling and lifting awareness

  • Ladder training

  • Customer care

  • Basic Health & Safety

Knowledge/Skills:

  • The applicant must be comfortable with the aspect of driving the company van, there is a requirement to routinely deliver goods to customers in the South East area of the UK as required and daily transfer of products and materials to our other factory in Hastings.

  • Ability to perform breakdown and routine maintenance on a variety of machines not requiring a contractor

  • Previous experience of carrying out basic repairs, Electrical, Pneumatic and Liquid handling, not requiring a contractor

  • Ability to undertake some basic buildings maintenance not requiring a contractor

  • Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements

  • Carry out routine PAT tests to a range of appliances (Training will be given on the use of the equipment)

  • The successful applicant must be communicative and reports to a number of line managers.

Physical Requirements:

  • Clean and tidy appearance

  • Able to stand for long periods

  • Polite and friendly manner to other members of staff

  • Good listening skills

Personal skills, abilities and competencies:

  • Work well as part of a team

  • To step in and support production when necessary

  • Good written and oral communication

  • Completion of basic paperwork

  • Work without supervision

  • Co-operative with colleagues

  • Flexibility to accommodate the needs of the business

  • Use of tools and equipment relevant to post

  • Undertake maintenance as directed

  • Ability to recognise the importance of ensuring a secure and safe environment

  • Ability to respond to straightforward maintenance problems


Salary:

  • Salary up to £19K per annum subject to experience.


Hours:

  • Monday – Thursday; 7.30am – 4.30pm

  • Friday; 7.30am – 1.30pm
