Buyer (East Sussex)

My client a forward-thinking company, are seeking a Buyer to join our growing team and work closely with the directors. The role of the Buyer will be to assist the team on site, as well as the Project Manager, in the procurement of materials for the site. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role as well as experience working in the residential new-build construction sector.

Main Duties

• Liaising with suppliers and sourcing building materials.

• Negotiating bulk order discounts.

• Opening accounts and establishing new relationships.

• Monitoring material prices.

• Involvement in material selection on a site-by-site basis.

• Reporting to the Directors on cost.

• Site visits as necessary

Qualification’s Skills and Experience

• Degree or relevant experience

• Knowledge/Experience 3 years+ experience in a procurement role

• Knowledge of manufacturing organisations

• Ability to manage complex sourcing projects

• Commercial acumen and Negotiation

• Attention to detail

• Working to deadlines

• Time management

• Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills

Salary/Benefits

• £27,500 - £37,500 + opportunity for discretionary annual bonus

• Statutory holiday (20 days + 8 bank holidays) and statutory pension contributions
