Trainee Installer (Hastings)

Our client is looking for a trainee Swimming Pool Installer to join their Company. This for a person who is looking for a career.

  • You must be able to work away from home, Mondays to Fridays, depending on locations.

  • Expenses paid for overnight stays during week.

  • Must be able to drive, due to travelling to location sites

  • During quiet periods you must be prepared to work in the Company’s other departments.

  • There is career progression as the company would ideally like the whole team to be Senior Installers, but that will take time due to the training/skills that you will need.

  • If you have not worked in pool installation before the ideal candidate will be someone who has worked away from home and is used to that, you will be a practical person, maybe have some experience as a carpet fitter, a carpenter or a sheet metal worker or come from a construction environment for example, someone who is used to working with their hands and understands the importance of the accuracy required.

  • You will need to be presentable as you will be dealing with the general public and the client’s customers.

Main Duties

  • Installation of the swimming pool systems to the highest possible standard.

  • To assist and support the department at all times.

  • Responsible for the installation of the job in hand.

  • To organise the daily workload to ensure the job is finished correctly and on time. The site installation and repair of all Company products.

  • To enforce company rules and safety policy as laid out within the Employee Handbook, ensuring all personnel fully understand these rules. Any matters that could directly affect health and safety or breach company rules must be reported to the Project Manager – Extreme and Service.

Qualification’s Skills and Experience

  • Good level of education, NVQ preferred

  • Must have practical skills

  • Must have knowledge of electrical/hand tools

  • Must have experience in either carpet fitting or carpentry or sheet metal work or come from a construction environment

  • Able to understand designs, plans and measurements would be an advantage

  • Must be able to work alone or in a team

  • Must be able to work away Mondays to Fridays and be flexible on working hours

  • Must have a full driving licence

Working Hours

  • Core hours are 8am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 4pm on a Friday, 41.5 hours per week. It tends to only be Monday to Friday but there is a chance of the odd weekend however, it is very rare.

  • Overtime most weeks during their busier periods as you have to travel to site and complete jobs before returning back here at the end of the week.

  • Overtime is paid or given as time to take at a later date (employees choice), at time and a half once 41.5 hours have been worked in that week.

  • Company pays £25 per night for every night you stay away from home on business, this is paid in arrears and covers all food that you may need and it is up to you how you spend it.

  • Company pays for all accommodation
