Warehouse Operative/Van Driver (Newhaven)

My client are an acclaimed, award-winning company based just outside Brighton; due to increasing demand and expansion they are able to offer an exciting opportunity for a van driver / Warehouse operator.

Main Duties


VAN

  • To represent the company in a friendly, efficient and professional manner always

  • To make all deliveries safely and in a timely manner using the company vehicle

  • Goods to be delivered to London, across the UK and on occasion Europe

  • Be available to work evenings / weekends when required to drive and support on installations

  • To ensure that the vehicle is fit for the road by undertaking and logging routine checks of lights, tyres, oil, water etc. Reporting any defects and to maintain the safety of the driver and goods.

  • To ensure that the vehicle is loaded safely, collecting and sorting all deliveries to make the most efficient use of the service for optimum efficiency and safety

  • To drive in accordance to the Highway Code regulations and take responsibility of the vehicle including security and completion of the relevant paperwork

  • Maintain a clean vehicle and provide a clean environment for other users of the vehicle.


WORKSHOP

  • Oversee all deliveries into the workshop / report all deliveries to Project Manager

  • Store goods into the assigned bays within the warehouse facility

  • To assist other departments within the Company with stock queries.

  • Load/Unload shipments for Courier shipments.

  • Checking quantities and quality of incoming products.

  • To ensure that the loading area is kept tidy and all practices are kept within the Health and Safety guidelines.

  • To ensure the workshop is always kept clean and tidy


Skills and Experience


  • Must be over 25 with a full Clean UK drivers’ licence

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to all other Company departments

  • Accurate numeracy skills are essential

  • Literacy and Data entry skills are required

  • Experience in warehousing/ manufacturing/ pick & pack environment desirable

  • Full Driving Licence

  • Keen team player, but also able to work on own initiative

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Keen to learn our product range and company procedures

  • Willing to work flexibly

  • Forklift licence would be desirable


Working Hours

  • Mondays to Fridays

  • 8.30am-5.00pm


Salary

  • £21,000 to £25,000
