Job Description

Our client is a construction company who have over the years built a very reputable reputation throughout the South of England supplying building services and tenders.


The company are continually expanding and because of this they are recruiting for a highly experienced Site Manager who is capable in running tenders valued up to £12 million who can assist and be responsible for managing projects and tenders accurately and responsibly across the board.


  •          Negotiable Salary up to £55k (DOE)
  •          28 Days Holiday

Main Duties

  • Report to Contracts Manager
  • Be responsible for the day to day running of construction sites and operations
  • Manage construction process safely and efficiently
  • Ensure all projects are run with good eye to detail
  • Work within set timescales and budgets set, being cost effective where possible
  • Coordinate works and staff on site, including sub-contractors and materials
  • Team leadership; maintaining good relationships with all staff, clients and subcontractors
  • Ensure production targets are achieved whilst maintaining safety quality
  • Find effective solutions where issue occur that may lead to delays of projects
  • Lead and monitor site meetings
  • Conduct regular site safety checks and maintain strict quality control
  • Ensure all tools and machinery meet technical and quality specifications and are compliant with safety requirements
  • Complete regular checks and complete the required paperwork for safety checks to make sure sites meet or exceed basic regulations
  • Full risk management, ensuring any risks are identified, eliminated and removed or minimised
  • Keep all data recorded appropriately and accurately, whether it be paper copies or electronic/paperless
  • Analyse and assess all situations or delays and develop a strategy and solution as to ensure there are no severe impacts occurred
  • Understand and abide with standard contracts
  • Other duties and supporting team where required as to ensure general smooth running of all operations

Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge

  • 10 years’ experience as Site Manager within Construction
  • Experience managing tenders up to £12million
  • HNC/Construction Management Course or demonstrable/related experience
  • Experience delivering and working on projects within housing, education, healthcare and commercial
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Strong team leadership and management skills
  • Organised and forward thinker, always planning ahead and for all scenarios

Must have:

  • CSCS
  • First Aid Training at work
  • Strong IT skills, must be good with working on a computer processing admin and emails (Outlook and most Microsoft packages including Word and Excel)
  • Driver, Full license with own car
  • Motivated and pro-active
  • Confident with resolving problems and issues calmly and effectively
