Our client based in Hastings is currently recruiting for Sewing Machinists to join their team. This role will be temporary which can lead to permanent for the right people.
Main Duties
Responsible for operating industrial sewing machines to produce high-quality products ensuring that each piece meets the rigorous standards for craftsmanship, durability, and precision.
To manufacture products in accordance with instructions detailed on works orders and approved drawings.
Operate various industrial sewing machines (single, double and triple needle) such as overlock and flatbed machines to manufacture products.
To work with a variety of materials and threads, using various sewing techniques such as lock stitching and hemming.
Inspect finished products for quality, ensuring seams are secure, stitches are even, and overall craftsmanship meets company standards.
Adjust machine settings and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimise downtime.
Maintain a clean and organised and efficient workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Skills and Qualifications
Proven experience operating industrial sewing machines (single, double and triple needle) in a manufacturing or textile environment.
Strong sewing skills with an eye for detail and quality control.
Ability to understand works orders and drawings.
Able to work with light to heavy materials.
Working Hours
39 hours per week.
8am to 5pm Monday to Thursday.
8am to 1pm Friday.
15-minute paid morning tea break.
