Our client is based in Hastings and due to their continual growth, we are delighted to be recruiting for a PCB Assembly Technician to join their team. This job can lead to a permanent position for the correct person; the salary will increase once permanent.
Main Duties
Responsible for assembly and testing of IoT devices.
Ensuring the quality and reliability of our products is critical.
Assemble electronic components onto PCBs using manual through-hole soldering.
Accurately solder and inspect following standard operating procedures.
Operate and maintain equipment such as soldering irons.
Perform visual inspections and functional tests on assembled PCBs to identify defects and ensure they meet specifications.
Document test results and work performed, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.
Install PCBs into IoT devices and perform final assembly.
Processing of returned devices for fault finding or recycling.
Complete production and quality control reports, noting any issues and resolutions.
Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy via workstation organisation, following production processes and participating in stock takes.
Follow all safety guidelines, including the use of appropriate PPE and uniform, to ensure all work meets regulatory standards and work areas are kept clean, tidy and organised.
Collaborate with the engineering team to provide feedback on PCB/ device designs which enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality for continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Skills
Requires a strong understanding of electronic circuits and manual through-hole soldering.
Quality Assurance: Achieve a 100% pass rate in PCB assembly and testing processes.
Precision Soldering: Ensure 100% accuracy in the soldering of electronic components.
Efficiency: Meet daily/ weekly production targets while maintaining high standards of quality.
Inventory Management: ensure component inventory is handled appropriately and in line with required consumption
Documentation Accuracy: Maintain complete and accurate records for all assembly and testing activities.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday.
6am to 2.30pm.
30 minutes unpaid lunch break.
